In these days of religious tension between the Islamic world and western societies, it is crucial that we behave in ways that reflect our commitments to justice. Those in Muslim countries must know that those of us in the West, and especially those in the Judeo-Christian tradition, are working hard towards interfaith harmony. It is also important for them to know that the governments of the western world are marked by the kind of fairness that demands their respect.
